Growing teenagers need plenty of room to let off steam, relax and be active.

At the Geraldton Residential College, we provide recreational rooms to cater for all interests from music, craft, table tennis, a gymnasium and billiards. 

 Outside, students can get active by making use of our large undercover recreational area, our trampolines and playground equipment.  We also offer an extensive range of sports equipment catering for sports such as; basketball, tennis, volleyball, cricket, soccer, street hockey, football and vortexs and badminton.  Our supervisors often get out on the courts and encourage students to participate in group sporting competitions after school and on weekends.

 The upgrade of the college saw great attention paid to our landscaping and maintenance of gardens which help to create a pleasant atmosphere for the students to enjoy.  Well thought out walkways and public art displays add to the overall attraction of our facilities.

And that is just within the college. Supervisory staff at the college present a Term Planner at the beginning of each term detailing weekend excursions and activities, ranging from Football Camps to Perth to watch the West Coast Eagles and Fremantle Dockers at Subiaco Oval, Beach Camps to local beaches, Orienteering camps to bushland areas around Geraldton as well as fishing, swimming, parkland bbq’s, shooting, dance socials, games and quiz nights. 

The staff at Geraldton Residential College actively encourage all students to be involved in a sport or community activity outside of the college.  We are able to provide transport to and from their chosen sporting or community venue within the Geraldton area and feel that it helps students to settle into their boarding life if they are able to make new friends and build relationships with people outside of the college.  If a student is already involved in a sporting team in their local community we will endeavour to find a suitable team for them to participate with, in Geraldton, so they are able to continue their involvement with that activity.

 The college provides recreational internet access in a computer room off the main foyer.  Students enjoy access to their emails, msn and computer games.  This year has seen the college acquire a new big screen projector to show DVD’s on a cinema size screen in our common area at the end of the dining room.  We have been able to connect our Playstation to this also, which provides a lot of entertainment to all students.
